Every day the news about prescription painkiller pill abuse (i.e. vicodin, oxycontin, norco, percocet, etc.) continues to get worse. Just yesterday, SAMHSA ( the federal agency charged with monitoring drug abuse trends in the United States) reported that "treatment admissions for addiction to methamphetamine and prescription drugs are increasing even as fewer Americans are seeking treatment for heroin and cocaine addiction" ( More Treatment Admissions for Meth, Prescription Drugs, SAMHSA Says February 26, 2007 - See URL for complete report)

For those of us in the addiction field, these findings just confirm what we see evey day: the problems associated with painkillers are growing, and the growth cuts across all age groups and socio-economic measures. Frankly, it has all the earmarks of an impending epidemic. In our program, Recovery Without Walls, http://www.recoverywithoutwalls.com/, we specialize in treating these and other life threatening addcitons with compassion and complete confidentiality. We realize that often (more often then you might realize) individuals have found themselves with deep dependancies on these medications, even if prescribed for legitimate medical conditions, almost before they know what to do about it. We call these folks "accidental addicts". We have an extensive background in dealing with this and all forms of addiction and chronic pain treatment. Go to website and see the work we do. Call us and let us find answers to your questions. There is a way out, and we know how to get you there.
